The Giants of Africa Alumni Reunion brought together former basketball camp and clinic participants representing six African nations. Held in Las Vegas, Nevada, the event strengthened our alumni community across the African diaspora, bringing together those who have ventured beyond the continent’s borders, to nurture a sense of community and belonging.
Throughout the event, alumni participated in a series of activities over three days, creating a platform to reconnect and inspire one another. Highlights included:
- Complimentary haircuts and braiding services
- Keynote speeches from GOA co-founders
- Interactive breakout sessions and panel discussions
- A pick-up game and Media Day at the Toronto Raptors practice facility
- The Giant Pitch Competition, awarding $5,000 to support the winner’s new business
- An afternoon at NBA Summer League games
The reunion not only celebrated past accomplishments but also set the stage for future initiatives, reinforcing the mission to empower and uplift the next generation.
