The top 50 players from Kenya with 3 players from Sudan aged 15-18 gathered at the Brookhouse Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya for the Giants of Africa’s Top 50 Camp. This marks the first time Giants of Africa has held their annual basketball camps outside of Nigeria. The camp also features 5 players that are 7 feet and above. Campers each are outfitted with basketball equipment that were generously provided by Nike. Founder of Giants of Africa, Masai Ujiri, opened the camp with an orientation and provided life skills to the campers. Coaching and instruction were led by Jama Mahlalela (Assistant Coach, Toronto Raptors), Patrick Mutombo (Assistant Coach, Denver Nuggets), Abel Nson (Scout, Toronto Raptors), Michael Akuboh (Scout, Toronto Raptors) and Godwin Owinje (Founder, Radar Hoops). The campers were put through various drills and instruction to work on the fundamentals of the game. Camp resumes tomorrow where the campers will be put through more intensive drills.
