On our last day in Kenya, the GOA team split into two teams and travelled to Samburu to the meet the resilient girls from the Samburu Girls Foundation. The Foundation is a safe place for pastoralist girls which keeps them free from harmful and retrogressive cultural practices of FGM, beading and child marriage. The ladies greeted us with songs and dances and took us on a special tour of their homes. They shared stories of their experiences and how the foundation has embraced them and taught them to love themselves and to dream big.
