Giants of Africa closed out camp in Ghana with an All Star game which saw some of the country’s brightest young talent compete. Players took the fundamentals and skills learned over the course of the three day camp and applied it to the final showcase game. John Teye from Accra was named MVP of the inaugural Ghana camp.
Throughout the camp, participants learned from international and local coaches and received guidance about the importance of continual learning both on and off the court. Campers were encouraged to foster their passion for the sport, and to use basketball as a tool for education and growth.
On their final day in Ghana, the Giants of Africa team also had a chance to visit SOS Children’s Village before heading to their next stop — Kenya. The team toured the facilities in Tema and played an impromptu pickup game with the kids. Afterwards Masai presented SOS Children’s Village with product and funds to further support their mandate to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children.
