The morning started off with a wide-eyed and eager group of campers ready to attack the court. Adding to the excitement was the appearance of NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo, who lead the group in a short chant and then schooled the young ones with some words of wisdom. Fired up by the HOFer’s speech, the kids hit the court hard and didn’t let up all day, despite the debilitating heat. From life sessions to drills, scrimmages and games, these boys never let their enthusiasm or energy waver. Before the camp ended, Masai spoke to the kids and led them in a raucous series of celebratory dances. To top it all off, as the sun started to set, the entire camp went to visit the African Renaissance Monument, the tallest statue on the continent. Giants indeed.
