After a visit to Ryerson University and a fun morning of science activities on campus, the youth from La Loche went on to the Biosteel Raptors Facility for a team luncheon.
Experience allows for new possibilities. The young people from La Loche met the Prime Minister it was a moment that not only expanded their horizons, but removed the isolation and lack of identity that has existed for these youngsters. Masai, Marci Ien joined Prime Minister Trudeau for an intimate discussion with the La Loche youth before they joined members of the Raptors coaching and front office staff for a skills and drills session on the Raptors’ practice court. More than a photo shoot the youth from La Loche had a chance to tell their story. Everyone listened and left inspired to do more and continue dreaming big.
Following the private session, the kids made their way to the game where they saw the Raptors pre game rituals and meet some of the players. The kids joined the team during the opening anthems and watched the team win against the Brooklyn Nets.
