August 14 – Ghana
The first day of camp in Ghana brought a few familiar faces from last summer, along with a fair bit of new talent. But old and new alike, everyone was eager to learn as much as possible from the coaches. The facilities were a drastic improvement over last year’s, with both indoor and outdoor courts housing the day’s action. After some warm-ups, the campers started running drills, though it took a little while for their excitement and nerves to settle. But as time passed, they started to hit their stride, and the skills that they’d been taught began to take shape. The coaches covered a lot over the course of the day, but the Ghanaians seemed up to the challenge. Tomorrow, we expect to see everything they learned today starting to shine through.
