The Giants of Africa crew were split up on Day 3 in Kenya, but for all the right reasons. A group traveled to Kakuma, a refugee camp housing over 185K people since 1992. An inspiring example of how to build a community and support refugees seeking a safe place to live. The team hosted a fun interactive competition, followed by a girls’ game, and a boys’ game. The rest of the coaches stayed at camp and held down the fort. Station work emphasized the basics including shooting and finishing lay-ups, and the work translated to improved game action in the afternoon. The level of competitive spirit increased yet again today – every team that took the court, felt an obligation to winning and playing hard. And with All-Star spots on the line, day 4 is guaranteed to not disappoint. Stay tuned.
